Description

Funnel Cake Bites are delightful, bite-sized versions of the classic fair treat. Golden brown and dusted with powdered sugar, these little morsels offer all the sweetness and crunch of traditional funnel cake in a convenient, snackable form.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg, then mix in the milk and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter will be slightly lumpy.
  • Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, forming small clusters. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bites to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • Once all the bites are fried, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a fun variation, try adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce. These Funnel Cake Bites are perfect for a sweet treat or party snack!
