- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- 4 slices of Italian bread
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (for the garlic toast)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the Sloppy Joe Mixture:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
- Prepare the Garlic Toast:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley if using.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the slices of Italian bread.
- Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Assemble the Melts:
- Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the toasted bread slices.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top of each.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
