Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • Ingredients required on the cake mix box (eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar caramel ice cream topping
  • 1 container whipped topping
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cake: Prepare and bake the German chocolate cake according to package directions.
  • Poke the Cake: While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over the top using the back of a wooden spoon.
  • Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Pour sweetened condensed milk over the top, allowing it to fill the holes.
  • Add Caramel Topping: Repeat with caramel topping, letting it soak into the holes.
  • Top with Whipped Topping: Spread whipped topping over the top of the cake.
  • Add Toppings: Sprinkle shredded coconut and chopped pecans on top.
  • Refrigerate: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the cake to set.

Notes

  • You can add chocolate chips to the cake for an extra chocolatey twist.
