Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (180°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove donuts from oil and let drain on a paper towel-lined rack.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Dip each donut into the glaze, then let it set on a cooling rack.
- Fill a piping bag with custard filling and pipe into the center of each donut.
