Ingredients
Scale
- For the Crust:
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- For the Filling:
- 3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup flour
- For the Topping:
- 3 apples, sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Make the Crust: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then allow to cool.
- Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Blend in the sour cream and flour until fully incorporated. Pour the filling over the cooled crust.
- Bake: Place the springform pan in a water bath (a larger pan filled with hot water) to prevent cracking. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the cheesecake is set. Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Cook the Topping: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple slices, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
- Assemble: Top the chilled cheesecake with the caramelized apples. Drizzle with caramel sauce and add whipped cream if desired.
Notes
- For an extra touch, use a mix of sweet and tart apples.
- Allowing the cheesecake to chill overnight enhances the flavors.
