Indulge in this decadent Gourmet Caramel Apple Cheesecake, featuring a creamy cheesecake filling topped with caramelized apples and drizzled with rich caramel sauce. Perfect for special occasions or a delightful dessert treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Crust:
    • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
    • 1/2 cup melted butter
    • 1/4 cup sugar
  • For the Filling:
    • 3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 3 eggs
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 1/4 cup flour
  • For the Topping:
    • 3 apples, sliced
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1/4 cup butter
    • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
    • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  • Make the Crust: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then allow to cool.
  • Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Blend in the sour cream and flour until fully incorporated. Pour the filling over the cooled crust.
  • Bake: Place the springform pan in a water bath (a larger pan filled with hot water) to prevent cracking. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the cheesecake is set. Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Cook the Topping: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple slices, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
  • Assemble: Top the chilled cheesecake with the caramelized apples. Drizzle with caramel sauce and add whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, use a mix of sweet and tart apples.
  • Allowing the cheesecake to chill overnight enhances the flavors.
