- 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita bread
- Tzatziki sauce
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onions
- Chopped lettuce
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken strips and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken until fully cooked.
- Warm the pita bread in the skillet.
- Assemble the gyro by placing chicken, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce on the pita bread.
- Roll up the pita bread and serve hot.
Notes
- If you want extra flavor, you can grill the chicken instead of cooking it in the skillet.
- You can add cucumber slices or feta cheese to the gyro for a more authentic taste.
