Description

These Green Chicken Gyros are a light, fresh, and flavorful meal, perfect for any time of day. Marinated chicken breasts are grilled to perfection, then served with crisp cucumber, red onion, and creamy tzatziki sauce in soft pita bread. The Greek-inspired flavors are sure to delight!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 4 pita bread
  • Tzatziki sauce for serving

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine olive oil, Greek yogurt, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the chicken breasts to the bowl and coat evenly with the marinade.
  • Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, until fully cooked.
  • Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Assemble the gyros by placing slices of chicken, cucumber, red onion, and a generous spoonful of tzatziki sauce into the pita bread.
