Description

Light, creamy, and bursting with cherry and vanilla flavors, this Heaven On Earth Cake is a no-bake dessert dream! Layers of fluffy angel food cake, luscious cherry pie filling, vanilla pudding, and whipped topping come together to create a dessert that’s truly divine—perfect for holidays, potlucks, or anytime you crave something sweet and easy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 ounces prepared angel food cake, cut into cubes

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

  • 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix

  • 1½ cups whole milk (or half & half)

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed

  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pudding Layer:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix, whole milk, and sour cream until smooth and thickened. Set aside.

  • Assemble the Cake:

    • In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the cubed angel food cake.

    • Spoon about 2/3 of the cherry pie filling over the cake layer.

    • Add the remaining angel food cake cubes on top.

    • Spread the vanilla pudding mixture evenly over the top layer of cake.

    • Spread the Cool Whip over the pudding layer as the final topping.

  • Top and Chill:

    • Spoon the remaining cherry pie filling over the top and gently swirl it into the Cool Whip, if desired.

    • Sprinkle with sliced almonds for garnish.

  • Refrigerate:

    • Cover and chill the cake for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  • Serve:

    • Slice and serve cold. Enjoy this fluffy, fruity, and creamy layered dessert!

Notes

  • You can substitute the cherry pie filling with blueberry, strawberry, or mixed berry pie filling.

  • Homemade whipped cream can be used instead of Cool Whip.

  • For extra flavor, lightly brush the cake with a cherry or almond syrup before layering.
