Description

This Herb Butter Beef Tenderloin Roast is a luxurious, flavorful dish featuring a tender cut of beef rubbed with a fragrant blend of garlic, rosemary, and thyme. Roasted to perfection, it’s a perfect centerpiece for holiday meals or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3 to 4 pound) beef tenderloin roast
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub the herb butter mixture generously all over the beef tenderloin roast.
  • Place the roast in a roasting pan and cook in the preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the desired doneness is reached (use a meat thermometer: 120°F for rare, 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium).
  • Let the roast rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

  • You can sear the roast in a hot pan for 2-3 minutes on each side before roasting to create a crust if desired.
  • The roast can be paired with a variety of side dishes like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
  • For best results, use fresh herbs rather than dried.
