Description

This Hibachi Fried Rice is a deliciously savory and flavorful dish, just like what you’d enjoy at a Japanese hibachi grill. It’s quick, easy, and packed with vibrant ingredients like sweet onion, garlic, and green onions. Perfect as a side dish or a quick meal on its own!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs, well beaten
  • 2 Tablespoons salted butter
  • ½ cup small diced sweet onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups cooked and cooled leftover long-grain white rice
  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 green onions (green part only), thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the beaten eggs to the skillet and scramble until fully cooked. Remove the eggs from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the cooked and cooled rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, followed by the cooked eggs. Mix everything well to combine.
  • Add the sliced green onions and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve hot as a side dish or main course.

Notes

  • Use day-old rice for the best texture. Freshly cooked rice may be too soft and sticky.
  • You can add vegetables like peas or carrots for extra color and flavor.
  • Adjust the soy sauce to taste if you prefer a stronger flavor.
