Description

These Homemade Bounty Bars are a delicious treat made from sweetened coconut, condensed milk, and smooth milk chocolate. They’re easy to make and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth with a tropical coconut flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g desiccated coconut
  • 250g sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 500g milk chocolate (or dairy-free alternative)

Instructions

  • Mix: In a bowl, combine coconut, condensed milk, and vanilla extract until thoroughly mixed.
  • Shape: Form the mixture into 8 bars and chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  • Melt: Gently melt the chocolate until smooth.
  • Coat: Place bars on a wire rack over a tray. Pour melted chocolate over each bar, ensuring they are fully coated. Level with a skewer if needed.
  • Chill: Refrigerate for another 30 minutes to set, keeping chocolate warm.
  • Repeat: Flip bars and coat the other side with chocolate, then chill again.
  • Decorate: Use a skewer to create lines on top of the bars for decoration. Allow to set before serving.

Notes

  • You can use dark chocolate for a richer taste, or a dairy-free chocolate alternative for vegan-friendly bars.
  • For an extra crunch, add chopped almonds or hazelnuts into the coconut mixture.
  • Make sure to keep the chocolate warm while coating the bars to avoid it hardening too quickly.
  • Prep Time: 1 hour (including chilling time)
  • Cook Time: None (no baking required)
