- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast:
- In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm milk and add the yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Make the Dough:
- Mix in the melted butter, salt, and egg.
- Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Knead the Dough:
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth, about 8 minutes.
- First Rise:
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Rolls:
- Punch down the dough to release the air, then divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
- Second Rise:
- Place the dough balls on a greased baking sheet, cover them, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake the Rolls:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let the rolls cool slightly before serving warm. Enjoy!
Notes
- If you want to make the rolls extra soft, you can brush them with melted butter after baking.
