Description

This easy homemade pizza dough recipe is simple to make and perfect for creating delicious, restaurant-style pizza at home. With just a few ingredients, you can prepare dough that is soft, stretchy, and golden-brown when baked.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 22 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour OR bread flour (250-295g)

  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)

  • 1 ½ teaspoons sugar

  • ¾ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder and/or dried basil leaves (optional)

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil + additional for greasing

  • ¾ cup warm water (175ml)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and optional garlic powder/basil.

  • Add the olive oil and warm water, stirring to combine until the dough starts to come together.

  • Gradually add more flour until the dough is soft but not sticky.

  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours or until it has doubled in size.

  • Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  • Add your favorite toppings and bake according to your pizza recipe’s instructions.

Notes

  • You can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.

  • Let the dough rise for a longer time (up to 2 hours) for a slightly tangy flavor.

  • If you’re not ready to use the dough immediately, you can refrigerate it for up to 2 days or freeze it for longer storage.
