Ingredients
-
1 pound lean ground turkey

½ yellow onion, grated
-
4 garlic cloves, minced
-
¼ cup whole wheat panko breadcrumbs (or regular panko)
-
¼ cup minced flat-leaf parsley
-
1 teaspoon chili powder
-
½ teaspoon ground cumin
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
-
3 tablespoons honey
-
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease.
-
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, grated onion, minced garlic, panko breadcrumbs, parsley, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and cayenne pepper. Mix gently until combined—do not overwork the meat.
-
Shape mixture into 1 to 1½ inch meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and golden brown.
-
While meatballs bake, whisk together honey and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl.
-
Remove meatballs from oven and brush generously with the honey garlic glaze.
-
Return meatballs to the oven and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
Notes
-
For extra crispiness, broil meatballs for 1-2 minutes after glazing, watching carefully.
-
These meatballs pair well with rice, noodles, or roasted vegetables.
