Description

This rich and decadent hot fudge pie is a chocolate lover’s dream! It has a gooey, fudgy center and pairs perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Pie:
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • For Serving:
    • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  • Melt the Butter:
    • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Mix Sugar and Eggs:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and eggs. Whisk together until well blended and smooth.
  • Add Dry Ingredients:
    • Add the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt to the egg mixture. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  • Incorporate Butter and Vanilla:
    • Pour in the melted butter and add the vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Fold in Pecans:
    • If using, gently fold in the chopped pecans to the batter.
  • Pour into Pie Dish:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared pie dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly gooey. The pie will firm up as it cools.
  • Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the pie to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, drizzle with chocolate sauce or caramel before serving.
  • This pie is best enjoyed warm but can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days.
