Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 burger patties.
- Cook the patties in a hot skillet or on a grill, cooking them to your desired level of doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, heat the beef broth in a small pot and add the caramelized onions. Let the broth simmer for a few minutes to combine the flavors.
- Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on the bottom half of a hamburger bun.
- Top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese.
- Ladle the onion broth mixture over the cheese, allowing it to soak in and melt the cheese.
- Place the top half of the buns on top and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can also toast the hamburger buns for a little extra crunch before assembling the burgers.
- If you like your burgers extra cheesy, feel free to add more slices of Swiss cheese!
- Serve with crispy fries or a side salad for a complete meal.
