Scale
- 10–12 fresh jalapeños, stems removed
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine jalapeños, garlic, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender and add vinegar, lime juice, salt, and sugar. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the sauce through a fine sieve for a smoother texture, if desired.
- Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
Adjust the number of jalapeños to control the heat level. For a smokier flavor, consider roasting the jalapeños before boiling.
