Description

This homemade Jalapeño Hot Sauce packs a flavorful punch! With the perfect balance of heat from fresh jalapeños and a zesty kick from lime and vinegar, it’s ideal for spicing up your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1012 fresh jalapeños, stems removed
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine jalapeños, garlic, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the mixture to a blender and add vinegar, lime juice, salt, and sugar. Blend until smooth.
  • Strain the sauce through a fine sieve for a smoother texture, if desired.
  • Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Adjust the number of jalapeños to control the heat level. For a smokier flavor, consider roasting the jalapeños before boiling.
