Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt. Cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches 280°F (soft-crack stage).
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Slowly pour the hot sugar mixture into the egg whites, beating constantly.
- Add vanilla extract, chopped nuts, and dried fruit. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a greased pan and let it cool completely.
- Cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar.
