This Jelly Nougat Candy is a delightful combination of sweetness and chewiness, with the added crunch of nuts and dried fruit. Perfect for candy lovers, this treat is easy to make and deliciously satisfying.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried fruit (e.g., raisins, apricots, or cranberries)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt. Cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches 280°F (soft-crack stage).
  • In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • Slowly pour the hot sugar mixture into the egg whites, beating constantly.
  • Add vanilla extract, chopped nuts, and dried fruit. Mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased pan and let it cool completely.
  • Cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar.
