- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a layer of the meat sauce. Top with a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of sauce and cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow the lasagna to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For an extra boost of flavor, sprinkle a bit of fresh basil or parsley on top of the lasagna before serving.
- You can make the Bolognese sauce ahead of time to save time during assembly.
