Description

These Lemon Butter Scallops are a perfect combination of succulent, tender scallops with a tangy, buttery lemon sauce. The delicate flavors of garlic, lemon, and fresh parsley complement the sweetness of the scallops, making this dish an elegant and quick seafood dinner option.

Ingredients

Scale
    • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

    • 1 pound sea scallops

    • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

For the Lemon Butter Sauce:

    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

    • 3 cloves garlic, minced

    • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

    • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter to the skillet.

  • Season the scallops with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  • Once the butter is melted and hot, add the scallops to the skillet. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir to combine.

  • Return the scallops to the skillet, tossing them in the lemon butter sauce.

  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh, high-quality scallops.

  • If you don’t have fresh parsley, dried parsley can be used as a substitute, though the flavor will be different.

  • You can serve these scallops with a side of rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
