Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Prepare Breading Station: In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs. Place the flour in a third shallow dish.
- Coat the Chicken: Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off excess. Dip in the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Transfer the chicken to the prepared baking dish.
- Add Sauce and Cheese: Spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
