Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup mashed bananas (about 23 ripe bananas)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, sour cream, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas; mix until combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, then fold in the chopped walnuts.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
