Description

This Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole is a comforting, cheesy, and hearty dish that combines two classic favorites—meatloaf and macaroni and cheese. With layers of seasoned beef, macaroni, and melted cheddar cheese, this casserole is sure to satisfy!


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 cups cooked macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, milk, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Press the meat mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Layer the cooked macaroni over the meat mixture, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Pour the condensed tomato soup over the top.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef for a lighter version.
  • Feel free to add additional spices or seasonings to the meat mixture, such as garlic powder or onion powder, for extra flavor.
  • For a crispier topping, sprinkle some extra cheese on top before the final 15-minute bake.
