- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 2 cups cooked macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, milk, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Press the meat mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer the cooked macaroni over the meat mixture, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Pour the condensed tomato soup over the top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef for a lighter version.
- Feel free to add additional spices or seasonings to the meat mixture, such as garlic powder or onion powder, for extra flavor.
- For a crispier topping, sprinkle some extra cheese on top before the final 15-minute bake.
