Description

This marinated cheese plate is an easy and flavorful appetizer that features a variety of cheeses—cream cheese, cheddar, and pepper jack—soaked in a delicious marinade of olive oil, vinegar, honey, and herbs. Perfect for parties or as a savory snack, this dish pairs wonderfully with crackers and bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block of cream cheese
  • 8 oz block of cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz block of pepper jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Assorted crackers and bread for serving

Instructions

  • Cut the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and pepper jack cheese into bite-sized cubes and arrange them in a single layer in a shallow dish.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, white wine vinegar, honey, garlic, oregano, basil, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the marinade over the cheese cubes, making sure they are evenly coated.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best flavor infusion.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature with assorted crackers and bread.

Notes

  • For added variety, you can substitute the cheeses with other favorites like gouda, brie, or blue cheese.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated overnight to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • For a more intense garlic flavor, consider adding an extra clove or two to the marinade.
