Description

A flavorful and hearty dish, this Meat Pepper Soup combines tender chunks of meat with the bold and spicy flavors of scotch bonnet peppers, bell peppers, and a blend of aromatic spices. Perfectly spiced and comforting, it’s the ideal dish for chilly days or when you need a comforting, satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb meat, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 3 scotch bonnet peppers, chopped
  • 2 tbsp ground crayfish
  • 1 tbsp dried fish
  • 1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Add onions and sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in meat cubes and brown on all sides.
  • Add water, bell peppers, scotch bonnet peppers, ground crayfish, dried fish, cayenne pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until meat is tender.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the level of scotch bonnet peppers according to your spice tolerance.
  • You can use any type of meat, but beef or goat meat works best for this recipe.
  • For extra depth of flavor, you can add a few more spices like thyme or ginger.
