A delicious twist on classic meatloaf, this casserole features a savory blend of ground beef, Swiss cheese, and crumbled bacon, all smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce. It’s an easy, comforting meal that combines the flavors of meatloaf with a rich, cheesy topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup milk, and egg. Mix until well combined.
  • Press the meat mixture into the bottom of a greased casserole dish, forming an even layer.
  • Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese and crumbled bacon evenly on top of the meat mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and 1/4 cup milk. Pour the mixture over the meatloaf.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the casserole is bubbly.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute the Swiss cheese with cheddar or mozzarella if you prefer.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or garlic to the meat mixture.
