- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on wire racks.
Notes
For extra chewiness, refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes before baking. You can also add a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the cookies before baking for a sweet-salty contrast.
