Description

This Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding is a comforting, creamy dessert with a touch of vanilla and nutmeg, and a delightful hint of raisins. Perfect as a cozy treat any time of year!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ⅔ cup Minute Rice
  • 2¾ cups milk
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ cup raisins
  • Cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

 Preheat and Prepare:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 1-quart baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.

2. Mix Ingredients:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Minute Rice, milk, raisins, sugar, butter, salt, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Stir until all the ingredients are well incorporated.

3. Bake:

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour. Give it a gentle stir after 15 minutes and again when the pudding is done.

4. Garnish and Serve:

  • Once the pudding is baked to perfection, remove it from the oven. Sprinkle the top with a generous amount of cinnamon. Serve the pudding warm or chilled, depending on your preference.

Notes

  • Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of chopped nuts for added texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
