Description

Parmesan Garlic Bacon Cheeseburger Lasagna is a rich and hearty comfort food recipe that combines the bold flavors of a cheeseburger with classic Italian lasagna. It features layers of juicy ground beef, crispy bacon, savory tomato sauce, aromatic garlic, tender lasagna noodles, and a creamy cheese sauce made with Parmesan and mozzarella. Baked to golden perfection, this dish delivers a decadent mix of savory, smoky, and cheesy flavors perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Protein

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 68 bacon strips, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced

Pasta

  • 912 lasagna noodles (regular or gluten-free)

Cheese

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Sauces and Liquids

  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat and bacon mixture: Cook chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, then remove and set aside. In the bacon fat, add ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until beef is browned and onions are translucent. Drain excess fat, then stir in the tomato sauce to create a rich meat filling.
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles: Boil the lasagna noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and lay flat on a clean surface or baking sheet to prevent sticking.
  3. Make the cheese sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a roux and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella until the cheese is fully melted and creamy.
  4. Assemble the layers: Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Layer noodles on top, followed by cheese sauce, sprinkle of crispy bacon bits, and more meat sauce. Repeat the layering process, finishing with a top layer of cheese sauce and a generous sprinkling of Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake to perfection: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden brown. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Cook bacon separately for crisp texture and to prevent greasiness in the meat mixture.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for best flavor and melting quality.
  • Do not overcook the noodles to keep the lasagna tender and avoid mushiness.
  • Allow the lasagna to rest before serving to help it set and improve slicing.
  • Mix different cheeses to create a more complex flavor profile if desired.
