Description

This irresistible Pepperoni Pizza Layer Cake is a fun, savory twist on the classic pizza! With layers of pizza dough, rich sauce, gooey mozzarella cheese, savory pepperoni, and a sprinkle of fresh basil, this pizza “cake” is perfect for a crowd or a special family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • Roll out one can of pizza dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared cake pan.
  • Spread half of the pizza sauce over the dough, then sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Add a layer of pepperoni slices, then repeat with the remaining sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.
  • Roll out the second can of pizza dough and place it on top of the pepperoni layer. Pinch the edges to seal.
  • Sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the top and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let the pizza cake cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped fresh basil and slice to serve.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, consider brushing the top of the dough with olive oil before baking.
  • Feel free to customize the layers by adding other toppings like mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers.
