Description

This easy and delicious taco bake uses Pillsbury crescent rolls to create a savory crust filled with seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and classic taco toppings. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes (optional, for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie pan or baking dish.
  • Cook Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  • Season Beef: Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir to combine, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beef is fully coated in the seasoning. Remove from heat.
  • Prepare Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent rolls and arrange them in a star shape in the pie pan, with the pointed ends extending outward. Press the dough into the bottom of the pan to create a base, overlapping edges slightly.
  • Assemble the Bake: Spoon the seasoned beef mixture over the crescent roll dough, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture.
  • Fold the Dough: Fold the pointed edges of the crescent rolls over the filling toward the center, partially covering the beef and cheese.
  • Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Serve: Let cool for a few minutes, then top with sour cream, diced tomatoes, green onions, and fresh cilantro if desired.

Notes

  • Add jalapeños or your favorite salsa for an extra kick.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef if preferred.
