Description

This rich and creamy pistachio gelato is a delightful treat for any occasion. The combination of whole milk, heavy cream, and a hint of almond extract enhances the natural flavors of pistachios, creating an irresistible dessert that’s smooth, flavorful, and simply perfect!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, chopped

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the almond extract. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Add the chopped pistachios during the last few minutes of churning.
  • Transfer the gelato to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • You can use roasted pistachios for a deeper flavor.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can freeze the mixture in a container, stirring every 30 minutes for 2-3 hours to break up any ice crystals.
