Description

Make your own delicious pizza crust at home with this easy recipe that mimics the classic Pizza Hut style.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F or 45°C)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

  • Activate the Yeast:
    • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  • Combine Wet and Dry:
    • Create a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  • Form the Dough:
    • Stir until a dough begins to form. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  • First Rise:
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Prepare the Dough:
    • Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness for pizza crust.
  • Assemble Pizza:
    • Place the rolled-out dough on a pizza pan or baking sheet. Add your favorite toppings.
  • Bake:
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy.

Notes

  • For a thicker crust, leave the dough a bit thicker when rolling it out.
  • Feel free to experiment with toppings to create your favorite pizza.
