Recreate the delicious taste of Pizza Hut’s pizza at home with this soft, chewy, and flavorful homemade dough. Perfect for making your own custom pizzas, this dough is easy to prepare and yields a golden, crispy crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • Activate the Yeast: In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  • Make the Dough: Add olive oil, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough begins to form.
  • Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Let the Dough Rise: Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a towel and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Shape the Dough: Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Place it on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake: Add your favorite pizza toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.

Notes

  • For a thicker crust, let the dough rise for a little longer before shaping.
  • If you like a crispier crust, roll the dough thinner.
