- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, etc.)
Instructions
- Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
- Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat a skillet over high heat and add a little olive oil to the pan.
- Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time for your preferred doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, add the minced garlic and fresh herbs to the skillet to infuse the steaks with flavor.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For a perfect sear, make sure your skillet is very hot before adding the steaks.
- Adjust the cooking time to your preferred level of doneness:
- For rare, cook for 2-3 minutes per side.
- For medium, cook for 4-5 minutes per side.
- For well-done, cook for 6-7 minutes per side.
- You can also add a pat of butter over the steak after resting for extra richness.
