Description

This fragrant and flavorful bread, infused with fresh rosemary and Parmesan cheese, is perfect for accompanying soups, salads, or simply enjoying on its own.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, warm water, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • First Rise: Place the dough back in the bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Add Flavors: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and knead in the chopped rosemary, grated Parmesan cheese, and salt.
  • Shape Loaf: Shape the dough into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Second Rise: Let the dough rise again for 30 minutes, covered with a towel.
  • Bake: Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • This bread can be enjoyed fresh or toasted. It pairs beautifully with olive oil for dipping or as a side for your favorite dishes.
  • For added flavor, try sprinkling some extra Parmesan on top of the loaf before the second rise.
