Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Gently stir in the chocolate chunks.
  • Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups. Swirl in caramel sauce on top of each muffin and sprinkle with sea salt.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense caramel flavor, you can drizzle additional caramel sauce on top before serving.
  • These muffins can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
