- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup caramel chips
- Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the caramel chips.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly.
- Sprinkle sea salt over the cookies.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until set.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Make sure to sprinkle the sea salt just before baking to retain its crunch.
- For extra caramel flavor, you can add some chopped caramel squares or use caramel sauce to drizzle over the cookies after baking.
