Description

These decadent cookies combine the rich flavors of chocolate and caramel with a touch of sea salt, creating a perfect balance of sweet and salty. Soft and chewy, they make a delicious treat for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup caramel chips
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the caramel chips.
  • Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly.
  • Sprinkle sea salt over the cookies.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until set.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Make sure to sprinkle the sea salt just before baking to retain its crunch.
  • For extra caramel flavor, you can add some chopped caramel squares or use caramel sauce to drizzle over the cookies after baking.
