Description

This Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions is a vibrant and flavorful dish featuring tender flank steak and colorful bell peppers, all coated in a savory sauce. It’s quick to prepare and perfect over a bed of steamed rice!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  • Add sliced steak and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add garlic, onion, and bell peppers to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the steak and vegetables. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot over steamed rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding ginger or sliced mushrooms to the stir-fry.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
