Description

This Slow Cooker Goulash is a hearty, family-friendly meal made with ground beef, tender pasta, and a rich tomato-based sauce. Easy to prepare and perfect for busy weeknights, this comfort food classic comes together with minimal prep and plenty of flavor.

For the Goulash:

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 small yellow onion, diced

  • 2 teaspoons jarred minced garlic

  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and diced

  • 2 cups tomato basil pasta sauce

  • 8 oz tomato sauce

  • 15 oz diced tomatoes (with juice)

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon herb and garlic seasoning

  • 6 oz pasta noodles (elbow macaroni or similar)


Instructions

  • Brown the Beef (optional but recommended):
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.

  • Add Ingredients to Slow Cooker:
    Add the browned beef, onion, garlic, bell pepper, tomato basil pasta sauce, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, and herb and garlic seasoning to the slow cooker. Stir well to combine.

  • Cook:
    Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours.

  • Add Pasta:
    About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the uncooked pasta noodles. Cover and cook until pasta is tender (check after 25–30 minutes).

  • Serve:
    Stir well and serve hot. Optional: top with shredded cheese or fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use elbow macaroni, rotini, or penne for best results.

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning.

  • This recipe can be doubled for meal prep or freezing.
