Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix (or homemade ranch seasoning)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
  • Sear the chicken breasts for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, combine sour cream, cream cheese, ranch seasoning mix, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until smooth and heated through.
  • Return chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the creamy mixture over the chicken.
  • Top with extra shredded cheddar cheese, if desired.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can use homemade ranch seasoning if you prefer a more personalized flavor.
  • To add a little extra richness, substitute the sour cream with Greek yogurt.
  • If you don’t have a skillet, you can transfer everything to a baking dish before placing it in the oven.
