Description

These Soft and Fluffy Christmas Cinnamon Rolls are a perfect holiday treat, featuring a soft, pillowy dough filled with a rich cinnamon and brown sugar mixture, and topped with a decadent caramel cream cheese icing. Ideal for Christmas morning or any special occasion!

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce

For the Icing:

  • Caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Add sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter on top, then sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, pecans, and caramel sauce.
  • Roll up the dough tightly and cut it into 12 rolls. Place them in a greased baking pan and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Drizzle with additional caramel sauce before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • The dough needs a full hour to rise, so plan accordingly.
  • If you prefer a sweeter icing, you can mix cream cheese with powdered sugar and caramel sauce.
  • For a festive touch, garnish with additional chopped pecans or a dusting of powdered sugar.
