For the Dough:
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
For the Filling:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
For the Icing:
- Caramel sauce (for drizzling)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter on top, then sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, pecans, and caramel sauce.
- Roll up the dough tightly and cut it into 12 rolls. Place them in a greased baking pan and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle with additional caramel sauce before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
- The dough needs a full hour to rise, so plan accordingly.
- If you prefer a sweeter icing, you can mix cream cheese with powdered sugar and caramel sauce.
