Description

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Optional for decoration: Colored sugar, sprinkles, or frosting

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a separate large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, then stir in sour cream.
  • Drop cookie dough by tablespoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Decorate with colored sugar, sprinkles, or frosting if desired.

  • Be sure not to overbake, as these cookies are meant to stay soft and chewy.
