A delightful and easy-to-make dessert featuring fresh blackberries topped with a buttery, oat crumble. Serve it warm with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream for the perfect indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter (cold, cut into small cubes)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the blackberries with 1/2 cup sugar. Pour this mixture into a baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, remaining sugar, oats, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  • Evenly sprinkle the crumble mixture over the blackberries.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the blackberries are bubbling.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding a bit of lemon zest to the blackberry mixture for a citrusy zing.
  • You can substitute the vanilla ice cream with other flavors like cinnamon or caramel for variety.
