Description

This classic Sourdough Bread has a perfect crust and soft, chewy interior, offering a delightful tangy flavor. Ideal for sandwiches, toast, or enjoying on its own!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 5 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter and water.
  • Add the flour and salt, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 4-6 hours.
  • Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased pan.
  • Let the dough rise for another 2-3 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

To enhance the flavor, let the dough rise in the refrigerator overnight for a slow, cold fermentation before baking.
