Description

This creamy and spicy cowboy queso dip is a crowd-pleasing appetizer packed with ground beef, black beans, melted cheese, and a kick of heat from jalapenos. Perfect for parties, game days, or a fun snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 package cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces.
  • Sauté the Veggies: Add the diced onion and jalapeno to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Prepare the Dip: Stir in the diced tomatoes, black beans, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cheese has melted and the dip is heated through.
  • Serve: Serve the queso dip hot with tortilla chips for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more jalapeno or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • You can use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner alternative to ground beef.
  • Serve with fresh veggies like carrots or celery for a healthier dipping option.
