Description

These deliciously cheesy spinach and ricotta balls are perfect as a savory appetizer or side dish. Packed with fresh spinach, ricotta, and Parmesan, they’re baked to golden perfection for a healthy yet indulgent treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the spinach, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, nutmeg, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Drizzle the balls with olive oil and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a crispier texture, you can lightly toast the breadcrumbs before mixing them in.
  • If the mixture is too wet to form into balls, add a little more breadcrumbs to achieve the right consistency.
  • You can also fry these balls in a little olive oil for a golden, crispy exterior if you prefer.
