Description

Sticky Beef Noodles are a savory, flavorful dish that combines tender beef with a sticky, sweet sauce and noodles. This dish is packed with umami flavors and the perfect balance of sweetness and savoriness. Easy to make and satisfying, this is a great weeknight dinner option!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces (can be substituted with beef strips or ground beef for a traditional beef noodle recipe)

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked) or noodles (as an alternative)

  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth or water

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional, for creaminess)

  • ⅓ cup grated cucumber (squeeze out excess water – typically used in tzatziki, optional if you want a fresh note)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 teaspoon dried dill (or 2 teaspoons fresh dill, chopped – optional for flavor)

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Juice of 1 lemon (adds acidity and brightness)

  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese (optional, can be used to garnish)

  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley or cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Noodles: Start by cooking the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  • Cook the Beef/Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add your bite-sized beef strips (or chicken) and cook until browned and cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and cumin.

  • Prepare the Sauce: While the beef is cooking, combine the chicken broth or water with the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and grated cucumber (optional) in a small bowl. Stir to mix and create a creamy, tangy sauce.

  • Combine: Once the beef is cooked, add the sauce to the skillet and stir to coat the meat. Let it simmer for 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and become sticky.

  • Toss with Noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the beef and sauce. Toss well to coat the noodles evenly in the sticky sauce.

  • Garnish and Serve: Serve the sticky beef noodles with a sprinkle of crumbled feta cheese (optional) and fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish.

Notes

  • You can substitute beef for chicken or tofu to fit different dietary preferences.

  • Adjust the seasoning and amount of cumin based on your personal preference for spice.

  • For a stronger “sticky” texture, you can add a bit of hoisin sauce or soy sauce to the dish.
