These Sticky Chicken Rice Bowls are bursting with sweet and savory flavors. Tender grilled chicken, marinated in a delicious soy sauce, honey, and brown sugar glaze, is served over a bed of fluffy white rice and topped with green onions and sesame seeds for the perfect meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  • Place chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag and pour marinade over chicken.
  • Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best results).
  • Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Remove chicken from marinade and discard excess marinade.
  • Grill chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked.
  • Slice chicken into strips.
  • Serve chicken over cooked white rice.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a splash of rice vinegar or a dash of red pepper flakes to the marinade for a tangy or spicy kick.
  • You can substitute brown rice or jasmine rice for the white rice for a different texture or flavor.
