Description

Sugared Cranberries are a festive and easy treat, perfect for the holidays! These tart cranberries are coated in a simple syrup and rolled in sugar, making them a sweet, crunchy snack or a beautiful garnish for drinks, desserts, or holiday dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the cranberries to the saucepan and stir until well coated.
  • Using a slotted spoon, remove the cranberries and place them on a wire rack to dry for about 1 hour.
  • Roll the cranberries in the remaining sugar until coated.
  • Let the cranberries dry for another hour before serving.

Notes

  • If you want a lighter coating of sugar, you can reduce the amount of granulated sugar used for rolling.
  • These cranberries can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Sugared cranberries make a great garnish for holiday cocktails, cakes, and even salads.
